The Ravensburger Earth puzzleball is built with 540 curved plastic pieces, engineered to securely snap together without the use of glue to form a smooth sphere. Each plastic piece features a detailed section of our Earth and provides a hands-on way to explore the globe from the comfort of your living room. Numbers and arrows are printed on the back of each piece to provide direction in the building process, and a handy reference guide is also included to see the completed map while you work.

Display Your Globe with Two Stands

This puzzle set includes two different stands to display your Earth puzzleball. A curved plastic base holds your globe while the puzzle is in progress and lets you position the globe any way you like. A separate metal display stand is included to hold the completed puzzle. This display stand allows you to spin your globe on its axis, making it easy to show off the completed globe and study its detailed surface.

Learn While You Build

Our testers found the puzzle pieces to be detailed and easy to connect. While some pieces took more effort to snap together than others, they all joined into a smooth and impressive globe. The plastic stand provides a convenient place to store the globe while searching for pieces. Doing the puzzle guided only by the map is a bit challenging, but great for learning countries' locations. The addition of numbers and arrows on the inside of the pieces is a big help for getting through tough sections.

Mario and Bowser figurines sit inside their own race cars, which are decked out with colorful stickers and real rubber wheels. Four AAA batteries (not included) provide the power for these racers, propelling them around the ice-themed track and over a built-in jump!

But be careful: two devious obstacles can get in the way of victory. A Shy Guy snowboarder can swing across the track at your command, or you can launch a penguin from the moveable K'NEX ramp.

Hands-on Construction with K'NEX Pieces

Built with genuine K'NEX, the Ice Race building set is as fun to construct as it is to play with. Our testers found the set simple to build following the included instructions, though the Penguin launcher was slightly more challenging than the rest of the set. Decorating the components with stickers offers some creative opportunities, and the battery powered race cars travel around the track with ease. The K'NEX components can be expanded with other sets to extend the life of this kit, and offers kids the freedom to create larger structures.
